Used for many years in the law enforcement and Military communities Force on Force training allows the participants to engage in realistic training scenarios where mistakes can be exploited and corrections made, without the loss of life. This scenario or drilling based training involves projectile based non-lethal weapons (Airsoft, Simunitions or Paintball) of the handgun and long gun variety, in which participants are presented with drills or scenarios, where they engage targets or adversaries that think, move and shoot back.

Tactical shooting can be done on target based courses of fire however the pinnacle of this type of training is best done against living, thinking, and unpredictable opponents that can change the scope of the situation and shoot back.

Well developed Force on Force Defense Training creates a reasonable reproduction of combat activating the “Fight or Flight” response system, also known as the “Sympathetic Nervous System”. Constant activation of the “Sympathetic Nervous System” is the key to developing the necessary skills to respond effectively to a situation. This then will allow your decision making process in the shot or no shot situation to become as trained as your shooting skills. Through introducing stress into your training, your reactions are tested and well rehearsed allowing you to maintain control of the situation.

Modern Defense Tactics Force on Force Defensive Training gives the participants the opportunity to test and evaluate their tactics, equipment, physical and mental skills and conditioning in a realistic and safe training environment. Our training gives the participants the opportunity to take initiative and the responsibility for their actions and what occurs, allows for the analyzing, and questioning of the experience, all while grappling with the dilemmas and contradictions of their actions in a continuing process of evaluating the experience.

We use two distinct force-on-force training concepts: Drilling, and Scenarios. Our Drills are designed to replicate or specifically target a smaller portion of the overall scenario focusing on repetition of intricate moves within the full scenarios. Our Scenarios then replicate actual situations you may face on a much larger scale.

We use two types of training equipment for our Force on Force Defensive Training; Blue Guns and Airsoft Blowback guns.

A blue gun is a 1:1 exact replica of a live gun and is a must have for every serious Force on Force operator. All dry technical training and walk through practices are done with this training apparatus, including; transitioning from one hand to the other as well as weapon malfunction, movement training, general weapons handling and retention drills.

Airsoft Blowback guns are also 1:1 replicas of your carry guns. They fire plastic 6mm BBs at low velocities. The reduced velocities allow for the student to be shot at close range without causing significant injury or pain.  These guns function comparably to actual semiautomatic guns, including working slides that cycle with each shot and lock back when the magazine is empty. The magazines are also much like a real magazine (caring the BBs and gas to operate the gun) and allow for reloading drills.

Both the Blue Guns and the Airsoft fit into normal carry holster allowing the student to work with their normal carry equipment.

Level 1 Introduction to Force on Force Defensive Training

Level 1 is an introduction to Force on Force defensive training and provides the participant the opportunity to see the effectiveness of this type of training. If you think missing a target at 25 yards is humbling, wait until the target is shooting back or charging at you. If you intend to carry your firearm as a means to protect yourself or your family then this is A MUST for you.

Topics covered in this course include but are not limited to; single opponent drills and scenarios, as well as single opponent scenarios involving dependants and bystanders.
Participants must be at least 21 years of age or have a valid CCW permit and it is preferred that you have some basic pistol training (see our full line of firearms courses) we are not teaching basic pistol, marksmanship, function or carry in this course. This is all about learning to use your gun in a defensive situation with a live opponent.

All scenarios are deigned to induce stress and force critical thinking. They are not intended to traumatize the student but to cause them to face the reality of proper training. Students should not expect to survive the first attack it will take time and the attacks will progressively become more aggressive.

We also want the student to learn the psychological and psychological process of having to shoot to survive. If this aspect is not dwelt with and understood it can cause long term psychological damage.

The legal aspect of a shooting situation and the aftermath must also be fully understood. Knowing what to say and when and how to say it could mean the difference in being criminally and or civilly charged or not. For this portion of the class we bring in a police officer and or an attorney to go over what you school and should not do and when.

If you have your own Blue gun and Airsoft Blowback you may bring it to this course. If you do not own these iteams we have them you can rent for the day for $20.
