This course focuses on the tactical deployment and use of the shotgun for personal protection and home defense.
The shotgun has been part of military and law enforcement arsenals for many years.
This is one the most devastating weapon system in the hands of a skilled operator.
The Tactical Shotgun training course starts with safety in mind and the basics of manipulation and function of the shotgun. From there the student will go through various drills and live shooting scenarios to enable in the deployment of the shot gun in a defensive situation.

General Firearms training safety review
The Defensive Mindset
Equipment set up
Fundamentals of shooting the shotgun
Tactical deployment methodology
CQB Shotgun methodology
Loading / unloading the shotgun.
Moving off the line of force
Reloading and malfunction techniques
Ammunition selection
Transition to secondary weapon system
Multiple threat engagement
Engaging threats during continuous movement

Required Equipment:
12 gauge pump or semi-automatic shotgun
Shotgun shell pouch
Tactical sling (tactical sling must allow the shotgun to hang freely in front of the shooter)
Vision and Hearing Protection
Secondary weapon system, holster and magazine pouches
Recommended Equipment:
Elbow and Knee Pads (Drills will Be Conducted On Gravel)
Gloves (Extended Firing May Mean a Hot Barrel, Rail, or Hand Guard)
Spare Parts (In the Event of a Parts Breakage, Quick Repair is Key)
Maintenance/Adjustment Tools and Items
Body armor is optional
Weather Appropriate clothing
Hydration system and water
Ammunition requirements:
150 birdshot
50 rounds of buckshot
25 rounds of slug
100 rounds of handgun ammunition
